Bernhard Germeshausen

Bernhard Germeshausen ( born August 21, 1951 in Holy City ) is a former German bob pilot.

Germeshausen began his sporting career as a track and field athlete. In 1974, he was fourth in the East German Championships in the decathlon. His personal best of 7,534 points equal after the decathlon table valid since 1985 7,386 points.

After moving to bobsleigh, he was in 1975 as a brakeman of the two-man bob by Meinhard taker first GDR Champion. At the Olympic Games 1976 in Innsbruck, he won the gold medal in both the twins, as well as in the four-man event, each controlled by lessee. Four years later he rescued in Lake Placid again gold in four-man of takers. In the Two- headed Germeshausen even with Hans -Jürgen Gerhardt as a brakeman for the silver medal behind the Swiss Bob by Erich Schärer but before Meinhard takers and Bogdan Musiol, won the bronze.

He was also 1976, 1977 and 1981 world champion in four-man bobsleigh and 1976 and 1981 world champion in the two-, where he also was the bob pilot in 1981.

Germeshausen is a trained qualified sports teacher and works at the Sports Gymnasium in Erfurt.
