Bernhard Rudolf Abeken
Bernhard Rudolf Abeken ( born December 1, 1780 in Osnabrück, † February 24, 1866 ibid ) was a German philologist and pedagogue.
Bernhard Rudolf Abeken studied theology in Jena, in 1808 teacher of the sons Schiller, vice-principal in 1814, in 1841 rector of the Ratsgymnasium Osnabruck, and died on February 24, 1866 there.
Bernhard Rudolf Abeken was the father of classical archaeologist Wilhelm Ludwig Abeken (1813-1843) and the author and politician Hermann Abeken ( 1820-1854 ).

Of his literary works deserve except a complete edition of the works of Justus Moser (Berlin 1842-43, 10 vols ) special mention:
- Cicero in his letters (Hannover 1835)
- A piece of Goethe's life (Berlin 1848)
- Goethe in the years 1771-75 ( 2nd edition, Hannover 1865)
- Concerning the treatment of Sophocles' Philoctetes on schools. (Osnabrück 1856)
