Bernhard Starkbaum

Bernhard Starkbaum ( born February 19, 1986 in Vienna) is an Austrian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since November 2013 in Brynäs IF in the Svenska Hockey ligands under contract

Career

Starkbaum began his career at the Vienna EV, for whom he played 42 games in the National League. At 20 he was obliged by the EC VSV to be built in place of Gert Prohaska. After joining, he was a long time spare man behind this, took over after his career end in the season 2011/12 but the role of number one. This season he led with 93.59 percent quota the goalkeeper standings after the regular season and also scored six shutouts, but could not prevent his team failed in the qualifying round and the playoff participation missed. In April 2012 he signed for two years at the Swedish history, the club MODO Hockey.

Starkbaum participated in two Under-18 World Championships and was also in so far (as of February 2012) ten games of the seniors team in goal.
