Bernhard Zintl

Bernhard Friedrich Zintl ( born June 16, 1965 in Munich ) is a former German pole vaulter.

Bernhard Zintl was the son of the extreme mountain climber Friedrich Zintl the world. In 1982, he was youth indoor champion in 1983, he won the German youth title in the hall and outside. From 1986 to 1988 he finished in the German outdoor championships in second place behind Wladyslaw Kozakiewicz, from 1989 to 1991, he won the title. In the hall Zintl finished 1986 in third place and won the title from 1987 to 1991 and then again in 1993.

Zintl participated at the European Championships in 1986 and 1990 and at the World Championships in 1987 and 1991, in part, but only reached the 1991 final battle and finished with 5.50 m in ninth place. His Freiluftbestleistung of 5.65 m, with Zintl on August 26, 1989 in Duisburg, when he won the Universiade.

In the hall Zintl reached the final battle at the World Indoor Championships in 1989 and 1991: In 1989, he finished with 5.60 m in fifth place, 1991, he was eighth with 5.50m. At the European Indoor Championships in 1987 he reached the 14th place with 5.30 m, 1988, he was seventh with 5.50 m and 1989 fourth with 5.60m.

Zintl began his career in 1980 at USC Munich. In 1987 and 1988 he started for the LG Munich, 1989 and 1990 for the LG Munich Olympic Park. In 1991 and 1992 he was at TSV Munich 1860, from 1993 he started for the newly formed Home Community from Quelle Fürth and Munich 1860 LAC source.

Bernhard Zintl grew up in Eichenau. He received his PhD in 1998 and has worked as a surgeon in Munich.
