Bernie Marsden

Bernard John Marsden ( born May 7, 1951 in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire ) is an English guitarist.

In 1976, Bernie Marsden reported on a newspaper ad and was named after a prelude to the guitarist and second vocalist of Paice Ashton Lord, the supergroup of Tony Ashton (Ex - Ashton, Gardner & Dyke ), Jon Lord and Ian Paice (both ex- Deep Purple ). During the recording of the second album, the band broke up in 1978.

Marsden's guitar sound was heard on the first eight albums of the hard rock band Whitesnake; next to it he wrote most of the songs the band of 1978 to 1983.

Marsden's style is based on white blues musicians such as Peter Green and Eric Clapton. In the early 1970s he was a member of, inter alia, at Juicy Lucy and UFO, but in each case without an album's release. After an engagement with Babe Ruth, he joined David Coverdale 's foundation ' Whitesnake.

After great successes, however, Marsden left the band because he did not want to follow the mainstream orientation Coverdale. During this time, Marsden recorded two solo albums. In 1984 he founded his own band, Alaska, but lasted only two panels long.

In the 1990s he appeared along with Whitesnake colleague Mick Moody as Moody Marsden Band again. The group also played the old hits; a concept with the 2000 founding of Company of Snakes' (now was the third ex- Whitesnake musicians, Neil Murray, it) was continued.

During these years, Marsden took occasionally on their own and tribute pieces and worked occasionally on the soundtrack.

In addition, he was on a 3-piece TV series, The Delta Blues 1926 - Urban Blues 1960 involved in many functions.
