Bernolsheim

Bernolsheim is a commune with 615 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the community association Région de Brumath and Canton Brumath.

Geography

Bernolsheim is surrounded by agricultural land ten kilometers south-west of Haguenau and 20 kilometers north of Strasbourg. The municipality is bordered to the north by Wahlheim and is surrounded by the municipalities Rottelsheim in the east, in the southeast and Brumath Krautwiller in the south. Bernolsheim belongs to the municipalities of the zone naturelle sensitive ( " sensitive nature zone ") of the Zorntals.

Bernolsheim is nationally represented with two flowers in the Conseil des villes et villages fleuris ( National Council of flowery towns and villages ).

The existence of a church in Bernolsheim occupied since 1351. The present church of Saint- Pancrace Saint -Sébastien was built in 1762, however. The neo-Baroque bell tower was added in 1906. The church organ was installed in 1921 by organ builder Joseph Rinckenbach in the case of an organ from 1786. Multiple objects in the church were classified in 1991 as a monument historique ( " historical monument " ), including several statues: St John Nepomuk (or Charles Borromeo ), Joseph of Nazareth with Jesus, Francisco de Xavier and Ignatius of Loyola represent. A relief on the subject Ecce homo from the 17th century has also been classified as a monument historique.

There is also a small chapel, which was built in 1876 and restored in 1913.

Transport links

In the south of the municipality of the Autoroute A4 Strasbourg the department D1340 road crosses to Metz to Haguenau. The nearest railway station is located in Brumath just three kilometers away. The airport of Strasbourg is located just under 25 miles from Bernolsheim.
