Bernt Evensen

Bernt Sverre Evensen ( born April 8, 1905 in Kristiania ( now Oslo ); † August 24, 1979 ) was a Norwegian speed skater.

Evensen won the 1927 all-around world championship in Tampere, where he could Clas Thunberg defeat, as well as the European Championships in Stockholm. In 1934 he won in Helsinki for the second time in all-around world championships.

At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 in St. Moritz Evensen won the gold medal over 500 meters ( a shared victory with Clas Thunberg ). He also won silver and bronze over 1500 meters 5000 meters. In the competition over 10000 meters he was in second place, as the competition was canceled due to the thawing ice. At the 1932 Olympics in Lake Placid, he won the silver medal over 500 meters.
