Bersuit Vergarabat

Bersuit is an eight-member Latin rock band from Argentina, which was founded in 1987 by singer Gustavo Cordera. Its original name was Henry y la palangana, only in 1989 the name was taken Bersuit Vergarabat, today the short form Bersuit is used frequently and also used on CDs.

Style

In her music mix Bersuit Vergarabat most elements of rock music with various Latin American rhythms like cumbia (eg El Viejo de Arriba ), Murga ( Murguita del Sur ) and Cuarteto (La Bolsa ). Other songs are influenced by the crossover, as Señor Cobranza, a cover version of a song which is also Argentine band Las Manos de Filippi, which became one of the biggest hits of Bersuit. Again, include a quiet, acoustic ballads to the repertoire so that the band's music is a total stylistically very diverse.

Career

Bersuit worked in the Argentine rock scene during the 90s up to one of the most successful bands. As a result, the breakthrough album Libertinaje (1998) applies the album Don Leopardo of 1996. Attributed the success continued at the international level, in 1999 the band did a successful tour of Spain, Mexico and other Latin American countries.

The band supported Argentine working during the Argentine crisis musically in the struggle for the acquisition and self-management of disused factories.

From Bersuit comes also a part of the soundtrack of the documentary film The Take by Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis.
