Bert Göbel

Bert Goebel (* July 14, 1963 in Mönchengladbach ) is a former German swimmer.

Career

The first steps made ​​sporting Bert Goebel SSV Reydt. Aged 10, he was in 1973 in Fulda for the first time German youth champion in the 200m breast. In the following years he was always in the youth squad of the German Swimming Federation. With the change to TSV Bayer Dormagen and serve his military service in the sports promotion group of the Bundeswehr in Warendorf began his national and international career.

Bert Goebel was established in 1986 in a new German record time and 1987 German champion in the 100 m breaststroke.

1985, 1987 and 1989, he participated in the European Championships in swimming.

At the World Championships 1986 in Madrid Bert Goebel won with Frank Hoffmeister, Michael Gross and Andre Schadt silver in the 4x100 m medley relay.
