Bert Rürup

Hans- Adalbert " Bert" Rrup ( born November 7, 1943 in Essen) is president of the Handelsblatt Research Institute and former " business wise ".

Career

Bert Rürup studied economic political science in Hamburg and Cologne and graduated in 1969 with the degree of Diplom- Kaufmann. From 1969 to 1974 he was an assistant at the Institute for Public Economics, University of Cologne, and in 1971 Dr. rer. pol. doctorate. 1974/75 he worked in the planning department of the Federal Chancellery. In 1975 he was appointed professor of Economics at the University of Essen, from 1976 until his retirement in 2009 was Rrup professor of finance and economic policy at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Rrup is member of the SPD and policy advisors. His emphasis is placed on pension policy.
