Berthold Maria Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg

Berthold Maria Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg ( born July 3, 1934 in Bamberg) is a retired Major General of the Bundeswehr and the oldest of the five children of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and Nina Baroness von Lerch field.

Life

As a ten year old Berthold Maria was taken along with his three siblings after the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler into custody, separated from the pregnant mother and abducted the children's home Bad Sachsa.

After the war, he put in a boarding school from the Salem High School. Before the founding of the Bundeswehr, he completed a mechanical engineering internship, a trading course and three semesters of law. After 38 years of service, he was the oldest soldier in the German army and commander of the Territorial Southern Command, before he retired in 1994. Among other things, he was from 1972 to 1974 commander of the armored reconnaissance Training Battalion 11 in Munster, which was housed in the Freiherr -von- Boeselager barracks. From 1982 to 1986 he also served as commander of the Territorial Brigade 55 in Böblingen.

Since 1964 he lives with his wife Matilda Countess of Bentzel - Sturmfeder - Horneck ( born January 27, 1938 in Bamberg), whom he married in 1958, in Oppenweiler north of Stuttgart. The couple has three sons.

In June 2007, he demanded of Tom Cruise, on the role of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg in Valkyrie - to renounce the Stauffenberg assassination. He was reluctant that a Scientologist played his father.
