Bertotovce

Bertotovce ( German Bertholdsdorf, Hungarian BERTOT ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia with 485 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011) in Okres Prešov, a part of the Prešov Region and is the traditional landscape Saris counted.

Geography

The municipality is located in the mountains Šarišská highlands in the valley of the river VeLka Svinka. The amount in some 8.5 km ² territory extends from 372 m nm to 643 m nm The center is located at an altitude of 400 m nm and is 17 kilometers away from Prešov.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1320 as vila Bertholdi writing and belonged to the estate of Svinia. 1787 were counted 57 houses and 447 inhabitants in 1828 and 57 houses and 430 inhabitants.

According to the 2011 census lived in Bertotovce 491 inhabitants, of whom 481 Slovaks, Czechs and a three Russine.
