Bertrand Poirot-Delpech

Bertrand Poirot - Delpech ( born February 10, 1929 in Paris, † November 14, 2006 ) was a French writer and journalist.

Bertrand Poirot - Delpech was since 1986 a member of the Académie française, and wrote half a century for the French daily Le Monde as a literary critic. He was well known in his native France. Its environment called him often only BPD. At his death he was honored by Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin as incomparable defender of the French language.
