Beška (Island)

Beška (Serbian Бешка ) is a small island about 15 hectares in Montenegro, located about 400 meters from the village Murici ( Bar municipality ) located on the south shore of Lake Skadar.
On the island there are two medieval churches:
- Church of the Holy Virgin, which was built in 1440 for Helena, daughter of Prince Lazar Hrebeljanović. The sacred building has a small single-nave structure with a central tower above the gable. The church was after she threatened to fall, restored in a more modern form.
- St. George, built 1442nd The single building has a dome and semicircular apses, which give the choir the shape of a clover leaf. The church has a narthex and a central bell tower above the entrance.
