Bess Armstrong

Bess Armstrong ( born December 11, 1953 in Baltimore; native Elizabeth Key Armstrong ) is an American actress.

Life and achievements

Armstrong, whose parents have worked as a teacher, completed a degree in Theatre Arts from Brown University. She made her debut as an actress in 1977 in the television series On Our Own. In the television comedy Your bride belongs to me (1978 ) she played one of the major roles; similar in the television thriller The eleventh victim (1979 ) by Jonathan Kaplan. In the comedy Four Seasons ( 1981) she appeared at the side of the working as a director and screenwriter Alan Alda in a larger role.

In the adventure movie High Road to World's End ( 1983) took over Armstrong alongside Tom Selleck one of the main roles for which she was nominated in 1984 for the Saturn Award. Another main role she played opposite Dennis Quaid in the horror film Jaws 3 -D from the year 1983 in the comedy film Nothing in Common -. , You have nothing in common ( 1986) by Garry Marshall, she performed alongside Tom Hanks. In 1994 followed a larger role on the side of James Spader and Mädchen Amick in the thriller Nightmare Lover. In the same year the television series Welcome launched in life in which Armstrong was seen until 1995 alongside Claire Danes. In the comedy That Darn Cat (1997) she played the mother of Patti Randall ( Christina Ricci ).

Armstrong was married in 1983 to 1984 with the assistant director and film producer Chris Carreras. In 1985, she married producer John Fiedler. She has three children with him.
