Bessarion (crater)

Bessarion is a small impact crater near the southwestern shores of Oceanus Procellarum. In a short distance north to the very bright craters Bessarion E is emerging. East of the crater Kepler T.Mayer and in the south lies with its conspicuous ray system.

The circular, bowl -shaped crater has a low, central elevation. He has a higher albedo than the surrounding lunar surface and appeared to be particularly bright in the sun is high

The lunar crater is named after Basilius Bessarion ( 1403-1472 ).
