Beta Cancri

Altarf is the proper name of the star Beta Cancri ( β Cancri ). He is a giant star of spectral type K4 ( K4IIIBa0.5 ) and has an apparent magnitude of 3.8 mag. Its distance from Earth is about 230 light-years, it is the brightest star in the constellation Cancer.
