Beta Tauri

Elnath (Arabic El Nath for horn ) is the name of the star β Tauri (Beta Tauri ). He is one of the two horn tips of the mythological sky bull represents (the other ζ Tauri ).

El Nath is a blue- white star of spectral type B7 with an apparent magnitude of 1.7 mag. It is 180 light years away and has an absolute magnitude of -2.1 like what corresponds to 295 times the luminosity of the sun.
