Betacode

In beta code ( encoding method ) can be personalized with the ASCII character set, that is, with the present on the standard computer keyboard characters, write texts, which can be converted by a converter in Unicode, in a second step. After its development by David W. Packard ( 1970), Beta Code quickly became the general standard. Currently it is increasingly replaced by Unicode. Beta code now serves rather to easily generate the Unicode ancient Greek words. The following table shows the correlation between beta code and Unicode:
