Betteldorf
Betteldorf is a municipality in the volcanic Eifel region of Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Daun.
Geographical location
The place is located in the High Eifel at the foot of Döhmberges, about eleven kilometers northwest of the town of Daun. In the south, the B 410 performs over the place.
To Betteldorf includes the residential places Kahl Berghof and clover Wiesenhof.
History
The name goes back to a Roman named Betilo that in today's municipality operated a horse-changing station at the Meuse-Moselle Roman road to 475.

Parish council
The local council in Betteldorf consists of eight council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms description reads: "Under a red shield head, in a golden tongs, in gold, a green bar tray, covered with a red medlar with golden slugs. "
Ortpatronin is the holy Apollonia, whose symbol, the pliers, is depicted in chief. The green saltire (groin tray ) refers to the Roman roads, the southwest of the " Döhmberges " crossed. The early Roman settlement is documented by significant Münzschatzfunde. The red medlar with golden slugs is the coat of arms of the Duke of Arenberg removed. Betteldorf came after the death of the last Count Manderscheider to the Duchy of Arenberg. The colors red and gold are borrowed from the coat of arms of the Counts of Manderscheid.
Structures
Other attractions in the municipality include the Chapel of St. Apolloniae from the 18th century.
At the instigation of the local bachelors Association a memorial was erected in the summer of 1922, commemorating the fallen of the First World War. On a square of red sandstone stands a statue of the archangel Michael.

Natural Monuments
About 750 meters north of the town is a stone Huns, which is protected as a natural monument since 1938.
