Betting, Moselle

Betting ( up to 2005 Betting- lès -Saint -Avold, German: Bettingen ) is a commune with 864 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Forbach, to Canton Freyming -Merlebach and community association Freyming -Merlebach.

Geography

The community Betting is at the southeastern edge of the Warndt between the cities of Saint -Avold and Forbach, about four kilometers south of the border to the Saarland. The village center bettings extends in the valley of Dotelbaches, which opens into the Rossel. History

Before the French Revolution Betting belonged to the area of ​​Trois- Évêchés.
