Bettingen, Rhineland-Palatinate

Bettingen is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Bitburg -Land.

Geography

The municipality lies in the Eifel region, about 290 m above sea level along the river to the Eiffel river Prüm.

History

The first documentary mention of the place was in 1319th Today Bettingen was in the Middle Ages Frenk rings. Bettingen was prümaufwärts in the present district of Alt- rings and bed was the Thirty Years War by its inhabitants leave ( ruins still exist today ). As a result, the place Frenk Ingen today Bettingen was.

By the end of the 18th century Bettingen was the capital of the eponymous rule in the Duchy of Luxembourg.

Parish council

The local council in beds and consists of 16 council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
