Bettviller
Bettviller ( German bed hamlet ) is a commune with 848 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Sarreguemines and Canton Rohrbach- lès -Bitche.
Geography
Bettviller between Sarreguemines and Bitche in a rural landscape in the Valley of Bickenalb. The districts Hölling and guising close south and west of the nucleus to Bettviller.
History
Although the first mention comes from Bedebur already from the year 1154, but was without form, and later the place was inhabited again until the 16th century.

Culture and sights
From the 18th century lived in Bettviller generations renowned stonemason families. Thus, the above-average number of high-quality sculptures, grave monuments and roadside crosses made of local sandstone, which are found in and around Bettviller explained.
