Betty Heidler ( born October 14, 1983 in East Berlin ) is a German hammer thrower. Since May 2011 holds the world record with 79.42 meters (August 2012).

Sporting successes

2001 and 2002, she became German Junior Champion, and from 2002 to 2005, she was continuously German junior champion. In 2005 she was U23 European Vice Champion.

In their first competitions in the adult area, Betty Heidler was number eleven at the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis and fourth place at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In 2005 she was the first time German champion, but failed at the World Championships in qualifying. In 2006 she defended, as in every year until 2012, their national championship and finished the season off with a win at the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart, after they had occupied the fifth place at the European Championships with 70.89 m. In the 2009 Universiade in Belgrade Heidler won with a championship record of 75.83 m.
