Betws-y-Coed
Betws -y -Coed ( bɛtʊs kɔɨd ə ) is a small town in North Wales.
The place is a tourist center in the Snowdonia National Park. Attractions include the Swallow Falls and Waterloo Bridge, which was built by Thomas Telford as a sign of victory over Napoleon's troops.
The name Betws or Bettws ( [ bɛtu ː s] ) is derived mostly from the Anglo-Saxon word ' bed- hus ' (= house of prayer ). Betws -y -Coed is the house of prayer in the forest.
