Beuren, Cochem-Zell

Beuren in the Eifel is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality elms.

Geography

To Beuren include the residential places Beuren mill and Peltzerhaus.

History

Beuren was founded around 1300. The place consisted in 1744 of three courtyards, one each were in possession of the convent parlors, of the Electorate of Trier and the Count of Pyrmont. 1794 was the occupation by the French revolutionary army. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. 1834 a major fire destroyed almost the entire village, as a result many people emigrated Beuren citizens. Since 1946 he is part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.
