Beuster is a district of the city Seehausen ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

Beuster located on a backwater of the River Elbe, north of the Wipe and in the extreme north of the district, and the Federal State of Saxony- Anhalt. The same forms the border with Brandenburg.

History

Until December 31, 2009 Beuster was an independent municipality with the associated hamlets Esack Scharpenlohe, Wegenitz and Werder, and the living quarters Grashof, Upper Kamps, Ostorf, Uhlenkrug and sub ​​Kamps.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities Beuster decided ( 8 June 2009 ), Geestgottberg ( 9 June 2009 ), Losenrade ( 22 June 2009 ) and the Hanseatic city Seehausen (Altmark ) ( 29 June 2009 ) that resolved their communities and to form a new municipality with the name Hanseatic City Seehausen (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2010.

Attractions

The St. Nicholas Church in Beuster, a collegiate church of the Augustinian canons of 1172-1337, was founded in the 12th century as the eastern church of the diocese of Verden. The church received its Romanesque character to this day. The crossing of the High choir is completed to the east with a semicircular apse. The whole building, including the foundations consists entirely of bricks.
