Beuvraignes

Beuvraignes ( Picard: Buvrainne ) is a northern French village with 835 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Grand Roye Roye, in the canton.

Geography

Said as Beverinae In 1048 municipality on the southeastern edge of the landscape Santerre lies about 7 km south of Roye and east of Autoroute A1 and high-speed rail route of the LGV Nord. In East-West direction, the department road D133 runs through it. The commune includes the hamlets of Rue de l' Abbaye, Cessier and the isolated Loges ( with a planned landfill in the Bois des Loges ).

History

Findings show a Gallo-Roman settlement. Since the 13th century the village belonged to the Abbey of Saint- Eloi Noyon. After the French Revolution, a castle was built in Loges. 1879 Beuvraignes received Eien rail connection to the now dismantled railway line ( LGV Nord has no hold ).

During the First World War, the city was founded in 1915 to rubble and ashes. The reconstruction lasted ten years. The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
