Beuvry

Beuvry is a commune with 8898 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Pas -de- Calais, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. It is part of the Communauté d' agglomération de l' Artois.

Geography

Beuvry is located about 35 km southwest of Lille, in the Nord -Pas -de -Calais. The city is connected by a branch canal to the Canal d' Aire, the one Großschifffahrtsweg Dunkirk -Scheldt forms part of a chain of channels that have been developed for ships with a cargo capacity of up to 3000 tons.

History

From 1993 until separation in 1997, the community was incorporated into the municipality of Béthune.
