Bevan Docherty

Bevan Docherty, MNZM ( born March 29, 1977 in Taupo ) is a triathlete from New Zealand and Ironman winner ( 2013).

Career

2004 Bevan Docherty in Madeira Triathlon World Champion Olympic distance ( 1500m swim, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). He started in 2004 and at the 2008 Olympic Games and was able to win a silver and a bronze medal. At the World Cup 2008 Bevan Docherty finished second on the Olympic Distance in Vancouver. In March 2013 he won his first victory on the long- distance Ironman victory in New Zealand.

His sister Fiona Docherty won the 2003 Duathlon Powerman Zofingen in Switzerland and is now active as a runner on the marathon distance. He is coached by Mark Elliot and lives with his wife Cheryl Fletcher in Santa Cruz.
