Bever (French: Biévène ) is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant. It belongs to the Dutch-speaking communities with French facilities.

History

Bever was first mentioned in 946 in a file in a document of the Abbey of Gembloux. From the 11th to the 19th century Bever included in the County of Hainaut, which merged into the province of Hainaut after the independence of Belgium in 1830.

1963 Bever part of the province of Brabant ( Flemish Brabant since 1995 ).

The name of the church is probably of Celtic origin ( beven = limit; beber Bieber = ).
