Beverly McDonald

Beverly McDonald ( * February 15, 1970 in Saint Mary) is a former Jamaican sprinter.

The majority of its international medals she won as a member of the Jamaican 4 x 100 meters relay. Among her greatest successes include the gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the title at the World Athletics Championships 1991 in Tokyo. In addition, she won with the relay silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and at the World Championships in 1995 and 1997 and the bronze medal at the World Championships in 1999 and 2001.

Overall, she participated in three Olympic Games and seven World Championships. As a single starter, she won the silver medal over 200 meters at the IAAF 1999 World Championships in Seville. At the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, she was over the 200 meters initially Fourth. After the winners Marion Jones was stripped of her medal but subsequently, they spoke McDonald to the bronze medal. At the same distance, they finished fifth at the World Athletics Championships in Paris in 2003.

She also won the 100m at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Maracaibo 1998 and was a total of five Jamaican champion, including four times over 200 m (1998-2000, 2002 ) and once over 100 m ( 1998). She was elected to Jamaica Sportswoman of the Year 1999.

Her younger brother, Michael McDonald is also a successful athlete.
