Beyer, Peacock and Company

Beyer- Peacock was an English manufacturer of locomotives. The company was founded in 1854 by Charles Beyer and Richard Peacock and closed in 1966. The work " Gorton Foundry " was located in the district of Manchester Gorton.

Known world was Beyer- Peacock especially for the development of the Garratt articulated locomotives, the first was built in 1909 for the Emu Bay Railway in Tasmania. 1024 of the total of 1704 built Garratt locomotives came from Beyer- Peacock.

Richard Garrett & Sons 1932 was bought.
