BFC Frankfurt

The Berliner FC Frankfurt in 1885 was an association founded on May 5, 1885 German football club.

History

The BFC Frankfurt was founded on 5 May 1885 by Georg Leux, later founder of the Federal German football player. The Frankfurt in the name was chosen as a throwback to the hometown Leux ', which came from an old Frankfurt athletes and family had come to Berlin because of his artist profession. It was originally played at the BFC Frankfurt Rugby Football, but this was soon abandoned in favor of the association football.

The BFC played in several early Berlin leagues, first in German Football and Cricket Federation ( DFuCB ), which, however, in 1894 excluded him, and from 1896 to 1898 in the general German Sports Confederation, where one was 1897 runner-up and 1898 Berlin Master this association.

The home matches denied the BFC Frankfurt to Tempelhof Field. The BFC Frankfurt was in many ways a pioneer Club: So he played one of the more rare games that were played between two football clubs from different cities in Germany, on March 11, 1894 against the Bremen FC Teutonia, which is usually played rugby football.
