Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel (formerly known as Bharti Tele- Ventures Limited ( BTVL ) ) is a telecommunications company based in India with head office in New Delhi. The company, which was founded in 1995, offers its services under the brand name Airtel in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. It is part of the conglomerate Bharti Enterprises.

The company is managed by Sunil Mittal, one of the richest men in India.

Airtel has more than 85.7 million customers in December 2008, India's largest mobile service provider.

2010 acquired Bharti Airtel 's mobile communications network Zain in 15 African countries ( Burkina Faso, Chad, DR Congo, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia) and operates this in future under the name of Airtel Africa.
