Bhoothnath (Hindi: भूतनाथ, translated: Lord of the Spirits ) is a Bollywood film with Amitabh Bachchan as a ghost. Bhoothnath is a film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost.
Action
The sailor Aditya Sharma moves with his wife Anjali and son Aman alias Banku in the villa " Nath " in Goa. On the outward journey they have already been alerted by local residents to the haunting at the villa. Yet they ignore the statements and are not put off. While Anjali and Banku settle slowly, Aditya must at sea again.
In fact, unusual things happen. One night Banku encounters with the spirit: It's the late homeowner Kailash Nath. The mind tries to scare Banku fear to scare the whole family out of the house. But Banku remains unimpressed. On the contrary, they will soon friends and the spirit is from now on Bhoothnath.
At some point, also shows Bhoothnath Anjali and tells about his past: his son Vijay leaves India to study in America. The long absence cope with his mother not long term. Although it several times calling upon return, Vijay takes no time. Only at the funeral of the mother he shows up. To Nath's scaring Vijay now wants to sell the mansion and take him to America. Nath can not be persuaded. But when his evil daughter tugging his beloved little grandson with violence out of the house, walk-behind Kailash when he falls down the stairs and wakes up as a ghost.
Anjali is so touched by the story that she tells Aditya them. Without further ado, looking at Aditya Vijay to organize a ceremony for Nath, Nath thus can finally rest in peace. However, since he refuses, assumes Banku his task, in the opinion of that Nath 's birthday to be celebrated.
