Bi Feiyu

Bi Feiyu (Chinese毕飞宇, Pinyin Bì Feiyu, W.-G. Pi - Yu Fei, born 1964 in Xinghua, Jiangsu, People's Republic of China) is a Chinese writer. He writes short stories, novels and screenplays (for example, the film Shanghai Triad ).

Between 1983 and 1987 he studied Chinese language and literature at the Pedagogical University in Yangzhou and subsequently worked for five years as a lecturer. This was followed by a six-year journalistic activities for a daily newspaper. Today he is the editor of a magazine publisher in Nanjing. The mid-1980s he began to write. So far he has published several novels and volumes of short stories that have been awarded, among others, the prestigious Lu Xun Literature Prize. He is also Vice Chairman of the Writers Association of Jiangsu Province.
