Bialbero de Casorzo

The Bialbero di Casorzo (it.: Double Tree by Casorzo ) is an interesting case epiphytic growth. It is located between Casorzo and Grana and consists of a mulberry tree, a cherry tree grows on the of considerable size.

It is very rare that epiphytic growing trees can live a long time, because on other trees only limited resources in humus are present. Only when it creates the epiphytic growing tree to gain a root connection to the soil, it can be like the Bialbero di Casorzo survive for extended periods.

The Bialbero di Casorzo is not the only such tree. In the edition of Kosmos in July 1964, reports a similar double tree in the area of Plitvice Lakes, which (as a shell) from a pasture (as base) and a spruce.
