Biamax

Biamax (pronounced: Viamax ) was a Greek truck manufacturer with plants in Athens, Thessaloniki and Larissa, he worked intermittently 2000 employees. In addition to in-house developments and Mercedes -Benz buses were manufactured under license.

History

In the 1930s Fostiropoulos was an importer of vehicles of Daimler -Benz AG. The company was extremely successful and founded in 1956, body building firm Biamax. 1961 was presented as the first in-house development, the "R " series, which was developed by the engineer A. Rizos and designed by I. Dracoulis. In 1962, the company participated in a tender for trolley buses in Athens, however, the contract was awarded to an Italian consortium, only the prototype was removed and remained 30 years in operation.
