Bianco world map

Andrea Bianco was a Venetian navigator and cartographer. He is the author of both the Bianco world map ( in 1436 ) and another consisting of two parts Portolankarte from 1448. Specifying a year was on cards at this time not the rule. However, the latter dating is considered safe because it tells you on this map that he had drawn this year in London.

The Bianco world map is part of atlases, the ten pages of vellum, in the dimensions 29 × 38 cm exist. He is considered the first preserved cartographic work on which the Portuguese discovery of the Cape Verde is shown. On the ninth side is the map of the world, which is shown on the left.

Andrea Bianco is also considered the employees of Fra Mauro, who is considered even more significant cartographer of his time.
