Bibcode

A Bibcode is a system developed for the proof of the stored parameters of astronomical objects in the SIMBAD astronomical database and NED label format. Bibcodes are now very common for referencing astronomical and astrophysical literature used, especially by the Astrophysics Data System, a comprehensive database for scientific literature in the field of astronomy and astrophysics.

A Bibcode consists of exactly 19 characters ( Latin letters, digits, dot, percentage sign and colon) and has the format
