The Michelin Man ( Bibendum, or shortly Bib) is the advertising figure of the French tire manufacturer Michelin.

At the World Exposition 1894 in Lyon the founder Édouard Michelin fell on a stack of car tires of different sizes, which were wrapped in white cloth bags.
