Bible Lands Museum

The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem ( BLMJ ) is a museum that illustrates the culture of all peoples mentioned in the Bible, such as the Philistines, Arameans, Hittites, Elamites, Phoenicians and Persians. It focuses on historical and archaeological aspects, not on religion. The aim is to bring the land in which the Bible was, in a historical context. The treated geographical area stretches from Egypt to Nubia and from Afghanistan to the Caucasus. The time frame is stretched from the beginning of human civilization to early Christianity. In addition to the permanent collection are regularly held special shows.

The building is close to the Israel Museum. It was founded by the antiquities dealer Elie Borowski, who brought his important private collection. Architect of the building was Ze'ev Schoenberg. The museum was opened in 1992.
