Biblica, formerly International Bible Society (IBS), is a Bible and Missionary Society.

History

It was founded in 1809 in New York City. In 2007, the IBS merged with the literature Mission Send the Light to IBS -STL Global. By July 2009, the organization had the name International Bible Society (IBS).

From 1831 Bibles were passed in prisons, hospitals and hotels. After 1892 every U.S. immigrants on Ellis Iceland received a New Testament in his own language. One aim of IBS is to translate the Bible text in an easy to understand everyday language without distorting the content.

In Europe, the IBS in Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands is still represented by its own country offices. The European line has Graham Sopp.

In Germany, the IBS was represented by 2009 as International Bible Society Germany. In mid-May 2009, the activities in Germany were adjusted for economic reasons and the seat of the International Bible Society in Germany Schorndorf, Baden- Württemberg, closed. Your activities will be continued at a reduced level since early June 2009 by the Agency PJI.
