Coins and monetary units
Old Testament time
In Old Testament times, there were no coins, but the value of money was determined by weighing a precious metal. The talent, mine, and pieces of silver shekels, based on the Persian units, the currency " shekels " to this day in Israel has validity. Only after the Babylonian exile (538 BC) the Israelites had minted money.
