Bibow

Bibow is a municipality in the eastern part of the district of North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Neukloster - Warin based in the city of New Monastery.

Geography

The municipality Bibows bordered to the south directly to the district of Ludwigsburg pleasure Parchim and belongs to the extreme northwest of the Sternberg Lake District. The municipality lies between the Bibowsee and the Neuhof lake is about 20 kilometers from the city of Wismar.

To Bibow include the districts Dämelow, Hasenwinkel, Neuhof and Nisbill. The districts Dämelow and Neuhof were spun off on June 1, 1992 the municipality Ventschow and incorporated to Bibow.

History

The place was the headquarters of the first mentioned in records in the 13th century knight family of Bibow those who owned numerous estates in the area and among other things still left visible traces in the churches to Rerik and Westenbrügge.

Until the 1970s there was a place called New Bibow with four houses that no longer exist.

Transport links

Through the municipal area the motorway A14, which connects the Baltic Sea motorway A 20 to the federal motorway 24 (Berlin- Hamburg) runs. In Dämelow the 501 meter long bridge the A14 via the Mühlenbachtal. The nearest interchanges are Jesendorf and Schwerin -Nord.

Bibow is located directly on the railway line Hamburg -Rostock -Schwerin, but has no train station; The next stations are located in the neighboring communities Ventschow and Blankenberg.
