Bibra, Saale-Holzland
Bibra is a municipality in the southern part of the Thuringian Saale- wood - country circuit and part of the joint management Southern Saale valley.
Geography
Bibra is located on 191 m above sea level. NN, three kilometers west of the city Kahla. The 4.38 km ² large municipality covers a portion of the ecologically significant Reinstädter reason. The municipality belongs to the north of the main town Bibra hamlet on Zwabitz.
History
The first mention of Bibra was in 1337 as " Bibera ".
Bibra 1712 was affected by witch hunts. A woman was caught in a witch trial. The output is unknown, since the files were destroyed.
To a field change occurred in the 1970s, as the formerly independent municipality Zwabitz was incorporated into Bibra.
Attractions
The Protestant Church of St. Paul is the oldest building of the village.
Half-timbered houses dot the village in the town centers of the two districts Bibra and Zwabitz. A key attraction is also likely to be the nature of the municipality, which is dominated by the scenic and ecologically valuable Reinstädter reason. The use of Reinstädter reason for tourism is sought as part of the " green tourism ".
