Biburg lies in the planning region Regensburg.

There are the following districts: Altdürnbuch, Biburg. Other districts are Dürnhart, Perka, Rappersdorf and Etzenbach.

History

Biburg was first mentioned as Piburch 1048-1060. The monastery was founded in 1132 by Konrad Biburg and Arbo of Sittling - Biburg. 1555 the monastery was closed, the plant came into sovereign administration. 1589 received from Ingolstadt Jesuit buildings. 1781 took over the Order of Malta, the monastery and the closed Hofmark, which he held until its dissolution in 1808. In 1808 the monastery by the secularization become the property of the Bavarian state. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

The community Altdürnbuch came along with its districts and Etzenbach Rappersdorf with the municipal reform on 1 January 1978 the municipality Biburg.
