More than 30 cm

Not set

The Bichon Frise is one of the FCI (No. 215, Gr. 9, sec 1.1) recognized breed of dog whose breed registry of Belgium and France is out.

Origin and History

The Bichon Frise probably originates from the Canary Islands, from where he was taken by Italians in the 14th century on the European mainland. His ancestors were known in ancient times in Egypt. In the 1930s, the breed in France experienced a new boom. In 1933 he came to his present name, which means as much as ruffled lap dog. After Germany, he came only in 1955 and a year later the first litter came in Bremen to the world.

Description

This small companion dog is about 25-30 cm long and weighs 5-7 kg. The hair is thin, silky, with corkscrew curls, very loose and can be up to 10 cm long ( the coat of the Mongolian goat similar). The color of hair is pure white. The coat requires very regular grooming ( brushing and combing ), so as not to become matted.

The body is well developed, he has a deep chest, his loins are slightly arched and muscular and he has a wide pelvis. The skull is quite flat, although he appears around by the hair, scissor bite. The hanging ears are covered with long and fine curly hair and are closely and finely close to the head. The front legs are straight and perpendicular ( viewed from the front ). The legs are wide and well rounded. The tail is set low and bent usually on the back, but not curled.

Nature

The Bichon Frise is an independent and spirited dog. He is able to quickly learn something and is therefore easy to train. His strengths include patience, courage and vigilance. If he hears something that worried him, then he hits the alarm immediately. However, one should not view as a protection dog him. On walks he is very persistent and needs as any dog regular exercise. The Bichon Frise is quiet and well-behaved and behaves visitors and other dogs friendly.
