Bicol ( German: Bikol ), Kabikolan, Bicolandia or region V is a region of the Philippines, located on the southeastern end of the island of Luzon. The people in this area speak Bikolano. The financial centers and transportation hubs of the region are Naga and Legazpi.
Geography
The geographical boundaries of the Bicol region lie to the west in a line from the bay of Lamon to the Gulf of Ragay. To the north it borders the Philippine Sea, in it lies the archipelago of the Calaguas Islands. The largest island is Catanduanes, which is upstream of the Caramoan Peninsula and both limit the Gulf of Lagonoy, this is separated from Rapu Rapu - Iceland from the Gulf of Albay. In the southeast, the San Bernardino road limits the region, in the south of the province of Sorsogon, the Samar Sea and connects to the south of Masbate is the Visayan Sea. Southwest of the region is the Sibuyan Sea, the easternmost extension represents the bay of Sorsogon.
In the region there are numerous volcanoes, such as the Bulusan, Iriga, Isarog, Labo, Malinao, Masaraga and the volcanic mountains of the Pocdolberge. However, the most famous is Mayon, he is considered one of the most attractive and most active volcanoes in the world.
